Importance of Quality Skateboard Decks

The consequence of poor quality bushings will be abrasion and wear of the hanger thereby introducing play and the plate of the skateboard decks will not turn even if the wheels turn. The axle width is normally close to that of the skateboard deck. Wider axle width will make maneuvers difficult and if the axle width is shorter then skating stability will be impaired. Bigger wheels (2.2 inches to 3.2 inches diameter) are good for fast riding but produce a higher center of gravity. Smaller wheels (< 2inches diameter) yield stability and require less force for acceleration. While wheels made of steel are more wear resistant, those made of polyurethane ensure more friction free riding. Grip tape is another crucial component of skateboard decks for the rider to stay on the board.
Skateboard clothing should be comfortable and should not interfere with leg movements. Loose skateboard clothing can result in entanglement in the wheels and can cause serious accidents.
